Secretariat of the Velidhoo Council is under Local Government Authority (LGA), a state institution established under the Decentralization Act to regulate, oversee and develop the local governance system of Maldives. Velidhoo Council is the authority figure responsible for the planning and development of the island as well as the wellbeing of the people in Velidhoo.

Tourism Board
A board of experienced advisors created by Velidhoo Council. Velidhoo Tourism Board is responsible to advise and support Velidhoo Council in carrying out promotional activities to promote quality and sustainable growth of Velidhoo in the local tourism industry, deliver long term economic, social and cultural benefits to Velidhoo.
“Visit Velidhoo” was created in year 2022; adhering to its mission to become the most preferred island to travel and lead the local tourism industry in the Maldives.
